The final of the Altran Engineering Academy (AEA) took place at the Renault F1 Team’s UK headquarters in Enstone last week where 10 young engineers competed to win two internships with the Renault F1 Team.

Solar Impulse has just passed its first major test with flying colors: a 25-hour day and night flight without any fuel. The sun’s first rays recharged the batteries, allowing the plane to keep on flying for another 24 hours.
Wednesday July 7th: Solar Impulse HB-SIA has taken off for its first night flight !
At 06:51 this morning, the Solar Impulse HB-SIA took off from the Payerne airbase with André Borscherg, CEO and co-founder of the Solar Impulse project, at the controls.
«For 7 years now, the whole team has been passionately working to achieve this first decisive step of the project», said André Borschberg a few minutes before easing himself into the cockpit for a flight expected to last until next morning.

Saturday morning in Payerne, Switzerland, the prototype HB-SIA made its eighth test flight. Never before has Solar Impulse flown longer or higher: four hours and 50 minutes, 3657 meters.
